SWIMMING POOL IN FABIJONISKES, VILNIUS

Client: VšĮ „Lazdynų baseinas“
Project: Year 2016
Project prepared with company UAB “Projektų rengimo centras”

___The object is developed by taking regard and adapting to the existing urban environment and by forming a visual reference of the new architectural quality. The architectural language of the designed building is laconic and the aesthetics are determined by the building’s construction materials, i.e. natural concrete and glass. The minimum offer of the use of materials, textures and colours aims to harmonize simplicity and its visual clarity, which helps express the building’s monumentality and at the same time strengthens its effect to the perceiver. Organization of glass planes and visual link of the inside of the building with the external side aims to express and strengthen the building’s impression of democracy and free access.
___Main entrance to the designed building is organized from the north side, based on the number of visitors. The entrance leads straight to the hall – reception. Men’s and women’s changing rooms can be reached from the reception, by going through the automated access control (turnstiles) and through a corridor. The building will have: a gym, changing facilities for trainers with separate sanitary facilities, facilities for administration workers, bath area and swimming pool hall.
___The planned swimming pool hall area is around 1000 m², intended for the installation of a 25-meter swimming pool with 8 tracks. These facilities will include a 100-seat platform for the audience. There will also be a separate bath area with 2 baths – a sauna and a steam room with a cold water shower function.
