SPORTS AND WELLNESS CENTER IN BIRZAI

____The Sports and Wellness Center being designed as well as its surroundings will become a new centre of attraction in the Town. Construction of the Complex has been planned in 2 stages. Construction of a multi-purpose gym properly equipped to meet FIBA requirements for organization of basketball matches has been planned for the first stage. It will be equipped in a manner enabling 3 teams to train at the same time (3 basketball courts separated by sport screens are being designed). The gym will also be available for rearrangement in order to be used for volleyball, futsal, tennis, or handball. The capacity of the gym will be at least 500 seats for the audience.
____The second stage will be focussed on construction of a 25-metre long, 4-track pool with a water amusement area.
The water amusement area will be equipped with a multi-purpose pool for a variety of water entertainment activities, including a stream, underwater massage loungers, a wall equipped with air massage facilities, a whirlpool bath, and a swimming pool for children. The sauna area being designed will have four saunas available (Finnish, Russian, steam, and infrared). A gym with weightlifting area, areas for group fitness sessions and engaging in martial arts, a mini café-bar, locker rooms, utility premises for coaches, service staff, office facilities as well as other necessary ancillary premises also have been planned for equipment during the second stage.
____The second stage also includes plans for construction of an ice rink with all the required equipment and facilities, which would meet the standards applicable by the IIHF, thus it would be available for organization of high-level sports competitions. The size of the ice rink would be 61 x 30 m.
